OOTD: July 27th

5:39 PM

Today's outfit is actually a bit atypical for me since it has a bit of color in it. But occasionally I do wear some color so its still a "me" outfit, (peep my cute sunburn)

  • top: Pacsun
  • bra: Forever 21
  • skirt: Urban Outfitters
  • shoes: Nike
  • bag: Urban Outfitters

I really never know what to say in an OOTD post...so I guess I'll leave it at that. Hope you guys like seeing my outfits because I do enjoy posting them :-)

Skincare Review: Cosrx Low pH Good Morning Cleanser

9:24 PM

I hauled this product from Jolse and write briefly about it in that post, but today I'm going to be going in depth about the product after using it for a bit.

It retails for $11 on Jolse. I had heard really good things about this product so I was looking forward to it, since it was finally restocked!

As far as I know, it has a pH of 3.5, I haven't tested it myself; but thats what others have said. Which means its a pretty acidic cleanser (high pH means its alkaline, and thats reaaaaaaally bad for your skin), but that's not a bad thing; as long as your not over a pH of 5.6, you're good. If I was really concerned, I would use a pH balancing toner afterwards, but I'm not. Disclaimer being I'm not a skin expert and I haven't studied pH very in depth, so do your own research!

The product comes in a nice squeezy tube and smells like tea tree oil, which is one of the ingredients. Tea tree is really good for acne so I was excited as I've been breaking out pretty bad for me lately.

It comes out as a gel and supposedly foams up after rubbing it in. When I apply this with my hands, it doesn't foam up very well unless I really rub it in, and even then its not really a very foaming cleanser. Putting it on a konjac sponge increases the foaminess but again, its by no means a foamy cleanser.

It feels really light and nice on the skin and leaves the skin feeling nice and refreshed, not tight or anything. It doesn't leave any sort of film afterwards either.

So far I have yet to see any improvements on my acne, but I don't think I've been using it enough to see any effects; so I will report back!

Overall it gets a 9/10, its a nice gentle cleanser that does the job and smells good :-)

Skincare Review: The Face Shop Herb Day 365 Cleansing Cream Fruit Mix

12:45 PM

I recently hauled this item from Jolse, excited about how cheap it is for the amount of product you get compared to other cleansing oils and creams. I wrote briefly about it in my Jolse haul post; it has a fruity scent and an oily creamy feel.

It retails for $6,48 on Jolse, can't really beat that. It comes in a tub, so you have to scoop the product out, which can get unsanitary, so some people don't like it. Personally I don't mind, I just make sure to wash my hands before I wash my face!

The product itself was a huge letdown for me. Doesn't remove eye makeup like mascara and even shadows very effectively, and also left behind most of my brows. Even when you use a lot of the product, it seems to disappear on your face! And the worst of all, it leaves a film on your face, even after cleansing with foam!

See I can't haul any more skincare for a bit, so I'm going to tough it out, keep trying it, and try to figure out a way to make it work; but I don't really have high hopes.

Overall 0/10, save yourself the money and skip this one!

Foundation Review: A'pieu Bboyan cushion

4:06 PM

Another older review from when I first ordered and recived the product, so I've still got my hair in the pictures, lmao. So I saw this product online and fell in love; a totally white base product that's sheer and doesn't show up as a streaks of white on your face???? Its like it was made for me. And surprisingly the outcome was pretty good!

This product retails for 7.34 on ibuybeauty.com.

I wore it for 5 hours without setting, spraying anything, or priming.

The coverage is sheer thankfully, since its a pure white bb cream. I've heard its supposed to be a makeup primer, idk. The finish is dewy and very brightening. Its also got a strong scent, fruity and also floral and a bit like sunscreen maybe. I like it though.
After 3 hours my skin looked the same. It hadn't setled into anything and wasn't sitting on top of my skin at all. After 6 hours I looked a little oily, but nothing extreme. No redness was showing through and it still hadn't settled and made my skin look bad. The thing is, this won't work for anyone even slightly tanned, let alone any PoC.
Since writing the initial review I've realized how much I have to use vs how much comes in the cushion. Don't get me wrong I still love this product, but if they could come out with a foundation in a tube or something, I'd be allllll over it, but as of right now, this product doesn't seem worth it to me.
Overall I give it a 8/10 because of the product amount issue. Other than that I really do love it, i just want more of it!

The Face Shop Flash Pink Powder Beam Review

8:09 AM

Another review from my Jolse haul. I'm always a sucker for highlighters, so naturally I had to get it. I also couldn't find ANY reviews on it, so this was kind of a shot in the dark, one I was pleasantly surprised by!

It retails for $9.48 on Jolse. Its a loose powder that comes in a jar with a puff to apply it similar to a cushion bb cream puff, but puffier, if that makes sense.

The product is called Pink Powder, and it really truly is pink, even when you put it on your face. Not in an off putting way, but definitely not in a naturally highlighting way. When you swatch it it looks pretty glittery, but on the face it applies as a beautiful pink sheen.

The wear time is decent, although after 8 hours I had noticed fading.

Overall I'd give this highlighter a 7/10, its a unique shade that I don't have in my highlighter collection, so I know I'll be getting my use out of it; but its not very intense like...at all. And I love me some intense highlight. So I'll probably be layering it over my other highlighters.
